Churches and Societies

Christian Science church services are always open to everyone. They are conducted by Readers who have been elected by the membership (lay ministry). On Sundays, the substance of the sermon is the same in all Christian Science churches around the world--it's based on a Weekly Bible lesson that is available for study the week prior to the service. The "pastor" of our church is the Bible and a book that expounds on the Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Children (up to age 20) typically prefer to attend Sunday School during the hour-long Sunday service. Small, interactive classes allow children to discover how the Bible remains practical today and how a spiritual foundation makes them stronger students, athletes, artists, and citizens. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers too young for Sunday School.

Wednesday services are less formal gatherings, with about half of the hour reserved for testimonials from the congregation. Because healing through prayer is integral to our daily life as Christians, sharing of healings (and the inspiration that precedes them) is valued.
